Earlier this morning, the Pokémon Company released a video giving us a first look at their upcoming title.  During this video we finally got a chance to see the game’s brand new starters.  These came in the form of Rowlet, the grass type Pokémon; Litten, the fire type Pokémon; and Popplio, the water type Pokémon.

What’s interesting to note is that the starters weren’t the only thing shown.  We were also given a look at some game play and even told the new region’s name, the Alola region.

It’s very likely that this is a play on the Hawaiian word “Aloha” considering the game takes place in a tropical island setting.  What’s also interesting is that the Pokémon company has ditched the chibi 3d models used in the overworld of Pokémon X and Y, as well as Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, in exchange for more realistic and proportionate looking models.  A top down view of the region as well as some footage of the main character running through it was also shown.

To end things off with a bang, the video gave us our first looks at the legendary Pokémon as well as official box art and a set release date.

This news was certainly exciting and we can’t wait to finally get our hands on a copy of the game this November.  More images from the video can be seen in the slideshow below.
